ESCMID funded Observerships – call in Spring 2023

ESCMID Funded Observerships

The new call for 50 funded observerships will be opened from 28 March 2023 to 26 April 2023.

First visits of observers to ECCs are envisioned to happen from Summer/Autumn 2023.

ECC Profiles

A detailed description of the ESCMID ECC profiles can be found here: ECC profiles

Eligibility criteria
  • Must be an ESCMID Young Scientist Member
  • May only apply to one of the active ESCMID Collaborative Centres (ECCs) per application period

  • Must agree on a clear purpose of the visit with the ECC endorsement letter (on their letter-headed paper) before applying. ECC should confirm both, the purpose and dates in the application

  • Must receive official approval from ESCMID and meet the necessary requirements post-visit in order to be reimbursed

  1. concrete objectives for the proposed observership visit. The applicant must give a rationale for doing an observership that can be verified by his/her head of department in the letter of support. The reason must include an explanation of how the techniques learnt will be shared with their colleagues or incorporated within their home institution
  2. rationale for choosing the particular ECC based on the expertise offered there
  3. main professional interests and how the ECC is relevant to these
  4. the curriculum vitae which must include contact information, educational qualifications, work experience, and publications/presentations.
