Dr. Theresa Ochoa was part of the panel of experts for the elaboration in the new guideline in diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia for children of the Ministry of Health of Peru


On December 4th, the new guideline of clinical practice for the diagnosis and treatment of bronchiolitis and pneumonia was presented to national experts at the auditorium of the Ministry of Health (MINSA)
We should stand out that Dr. Theresa Ochoa, director of the Instituto de Medicina Tropical “Alexander von Humboldt”, participated as member of the MINSA’s panel of experts, as Clinical Expert and Researcher in the development of the “Guidelines for clinical Practice in Diagnosis and Treatment for Pneumonia in Children” since 2017.

The aim of this clinical guideline is to establish and standardize the criteria for the proper diagnosis and treatment of community- acquired pneumonia in children under 12, contributing to the reduction of mortality and morbidity from this disease, prioritizing children less than 5 years.
