The ECCMID, is the leading event in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in the world, and brings together experts from many fields to present their findings, guidelines and experiences to an audience of more than 12,000 colleagues.

This year, the congress was held in Amsterdam from April 13 to 16, with lectures and oral sessions, as well as interactive workshops, meetings with experts, a wide range of symposiums  and an active participation of representatives of the Instituto de Medicina Tropical Alexander von Humboldt.

Dr. José Luis Paredes, a UPCH medical school graduate and also a junior IMT AvH researcher, who presented his work entitled "Use of parenteral antibiotics in urban and peri-urban health centers in Lima: a cross-sectional study of knowledge, attitudes and practice " developed with Dr. Theresa Ochoa, IMT AvH director, MSc Maribel Riveros, IMT AvH associate researcher and Dr. Rafaella Navarro UPCH medical school graduate.

Msc Maribel Riveros biologist, UPCH professor and associate researcher at IMT AvH presented an abstract entitled "Detection and characterization of class 1 and 2 integrons in enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli  (ETEC) isolated from faeces in Peruvian children".

Dr. Omayra Chincha, ID fellow from UPCH, presenting her work entitled "Associated factors among patients with  Staphylococcus aureus in a public hospital Lima, Peru".

The 30th version of the ECCMID will be held on April 18 to 21, 2020 in Paris, France and the deadline to submit the abstracts is November 27, 2019. Schedule it in your calendar  and be sure to participate!
