XIX International Conference on Human Retrovirology- HTLV

congreso htlv 2

Every two years, the International Retrovirology Association organizes an International Congress on HTLV.

After the Congress in Tokyo (March 2017), Peru was selected as the location for the next congress which will take place from April 24 to 26, which Chairman will be Dr. Eduardo Gotuzzo, past director of IMT-AvH and professor Emeritus of the UPCH.

This conference represents an important opportunity for HTLV and related viruses researchers from across the globe to assemble and share their knowledge and experience. The leaders of the field announce their latest findings and casually exchange ideas on everything from basic experiments to clinical trials.

This kind of international collaboration drives medical research and drug development for the HTLV-1-associated diseases plaguing the world, namely adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL), HTLV-1-associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP), and HTLV-1associated uveitis.

A multitude of researchers, clinicians and students gather as colleagues and friends regardless of nationality, creating an ideal environment to advance research through international collaboration.
